Wellington primary school Headteacher Debbie Norton described the report as an endorsement of the hard work by teachers and pupils, which has seen schools from as far afield as Oslo and South Africa trying to follow its exampleWe have developed a vibrant and broad creative curriculum over the last few years and were one of the first schools in West London to be accredited by Exeter University as a 'Thinking School'.
The school was decorated with bunting and balloons and a party lunch was held in the playground followed by celebration cakes and cream scones. "The climate change workshop will form part of our 'Improving the Environment' project in geography. Pupils in year four have been learning about waste management issues and how people are impacting on the environment. The children at Wellington Junior School are aware that climate change is an important issue and that we all have a responsibility to help protect the environment."
