Jim tressel Coach
Jim tressel Head coach at OSU since 2001, Tressel hangs it up as a tattoo and cheap cars swirl around the vaunted program. The St. Louis Rams have a direct connection to Ohio State, with OSU-product James Laurinaitis leading a group of linebackers populated primarily by fellow Buckeyes. The Rams used their fifth-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft on Ohio State S Jermale Hines. Tressel has obviously been under fire for months, since it was revealed that players sold or traded uniforms and memorabilia to an area tattoo parlor. As more information has come out about just how much Tressel knew and the overall culture of the program, it became less likely Tressel would survive this.
Earlier this year, Ohio State announced quarterback Terrelle Pryor, tailback Dan Herron, offensive tackle Mike Adams, receiver DeVier Posey and defensive end Solomon Thomas would be suspended the first five games of the 2011 season for accepting improper benefits. Rumors have been swirling from other former players that similar improper benefits were being received in the past as well.Several of his players, including QB Terrelle Pryor, are out for a big chunk of the season as well. Tressel found himself in the middle of dueling scandals. Among the more well-known is the tattoo-for-schwag arrangement. A second investigation around friendly pricing for player cars is also underway.
scouting service” that ostensibly provided videotapes of top high school players (video that may or may not exist) but more importantly delivered a top high school player to the Ducks after it was widely assumed he would be attending another generous program, USC. (Photos of the recruit wearing some of Oregon’s celebrated Nike-provided apparel have been seen online, which would be another clothing violation, by the way, but by the school not the player.)
