singpass Elections

singpass For the Singaporeans out there, unless you’ve been hiding behind a rock or a Kate Spade bag, you would know that the once-in-five-years elections is here! Happening right now! In Singapore! And what’s so amazing about the elections this time? We get to vote! Well, everyone who is not in Tanjong Pagar anyway. But wait. There’s a special, shall we say, “official procedure” for the overseas Singaporean. Or should I say, future what-is-your-motive-for-coming-home citizen. Excited that I was able to vote for the first time in my life – can’t wait to cross a box! whee! – I went to the Singapore elections website to figure out the procedure for overseas Singaporeans. Do I request for a ballot card? Can I only do so in Singapore? Where do I vote overseas? Problem 1There are only NINE polling stations outside Singapore. You are kidding me right? Overseas Singaporeans vote not worth it ha? Cos we cannot hear your bee-boo-bee-boo loudspeaker going around the neighbourhood? Because overseas Singaporeans get to hear more foreign media coverage?
